CHAMPIONSHIP RULES

  1. Athletes who have participated in events outside the WDSF Competition System in the past 12 (twelve) months are not eligible to take part in this Championship.
  2. Entries must be submitted before 01 July 2024. Late entries will NOT be entertained.
  3. Age limits for all events are based on the year of birth (based on WDSF regulations).
  4. All age limits are based on the calendar year ending 31 December 2024. In all age groups, one partner of a couple may be younger. In Adult categories, BOTH ATHLETES MUST BE AGED 16 & ABOVE.
  5. The Championship Organisers/Chairman reserves the right to refuse entries from persons whose status is unclear according to WDSF/VDSA Rules.
  6. No change of partner is allowed in the same event.
  7. All competitors must be dressed in appropriate costumes based on WDSF Dress Regulations.
  8. Juvenile I, Juvenile II and Junior I athletes (including Solo events) are to take note of the costume, hair and makeup regulations as defined in the WDSF Dress Regulations.
  9. Dance choreographies of competitors for ALL Children & Juvenile event(s) must be within WDSF Competition Syllabus Figures. Freestyle choreography is NOT ALLOWED. Violations will be subject to disqualification.
  10. NEWCOMER events are restricted for athletes who have not competed in a physical Dancesport competition before. Any athletes found to have competed before in other Dancesport competition(s) will be asked to forfeit or be disqualified from this event.
  11. Only KTOC Open Solo Dance events will permit the entry of both male and female solo athletes in the same event.
  12. All competitors must attend the opening ceremony as requested by the Organiser.
  13. All competitors must be present for their events on time. Late-comers will be disqualified.
  14. The Championship Organiser/Chairman reserves the right to change the programme of events without prior notice.
  15. The Championship Organiser will not accept any liability, claims for injuries, damage, COVID-19 contraction, influenza A contraction or loss suffered by the competitors.
  16. Adjudicator’s decisions shall be final.
  17. In the event of any question or matter arising out of any point which is not expressively provided for in the rules, the Championship Organiser shall have the power to use its own discretion.
  18. In the event of television coverage, social media live streaming or production of a video recording for commercial purposes of any part of the Championship, all competitors agree that the rights to any fees from such television or video recording will vest solely with the Organiser. No competitors or associations shall have any claim against the Organisers, television company or video producer at any such event.

By registering your entry, you agree to absolve the Organisers from claims and obligations of any injuries, damages, or losses you may sustain during the preparation and conduct of this competition. You agree to abide by the Championship Rules and understand that you may be disqualified if you infringe on the rules and conditions of the competition.
